What I’m Watching and Reading to Prepare for Halloween

  1. Bram Stoker’s Dracula directed by Francis Ford Coppola - Melodramatic, funny, poignant, sexy, and faithful to the book, this movie is everything I wanted from a Dracula adaptation and more. Also worth mentioning that the cast is insane.

2. Slewfoot by Brom - A witchy, wonderful novel about a witch trial in the year 1666. The illustrations are worth buying a physical copy—just don’t ruin yours by taking it on Tiana’s Bayou Adventure like I did.

Beautiful Creatures (Caster Chronicles, #1) by Kami Garcia | Goodreads

3. Beautiful Creatures by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl - This is a long awaited reread for me. I have fond memories of escaping into this series as a child being bullied at daycare. The southern witch story draws me in every time. I also love a good YA romance.

4. “Gravity Falls” - This Disney Channel animated TV show packs a real punch. The show takes place during one summer, but includes tons of supernatural elements (about one per episode) making it a lovely transitional watch. I’ve been rationing the episodes as I am so enthralled with this series.
